Personalized Treatments

Deep Tissue

Your therapist will use slower strokes or friction techniques across the grain of the muscle to target the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue.  Deep tissue massage is used for chronically tight or painful muscles, repetitive strain, postural problems, or recovery from injury.

Sports

Sports massage focuses on areas of the body that are overused and stressed from repetitive and often aggressive movements.  Stressed muscle-tendon junctions are targetted along with the typical muscle "belly" massages.   Decreased muscle soreness is commonly experienced among athletes who receive massage either before or after exercise.

Pre-Natal

Pre-natal massage reduces stress, decrease swelling, relieve increasing soreness in the back and hips, and reduce anxiety and depression.  Certified  therapists use proper positioning and support of the mother's body during treatment as well as modifying techniques based on individual needs as your body changes through the advancing stages of your pregnancy.

Firm Swedish

Using long smooth strokes, kneading, and circular movements on superficial layers of muscle,  Swedish massage can be very gentle and relaxing.

Manual Therapy

A variety of hands-on treatment techniques used to help relieve pain, mobilize joints, normalize posture/alignment and retrain efficient movement.  Manual therapy relieves acute and chronic muscular pain and stiffness by mobilizing soft tissue, releasing adhesions, reducing muscle spasms, lowering hypertonicity, and restoring pain-free range of motion.

Joint Mobilization Therapy

Gentle mobilization therapy to restore joint motion that has been reduced due to aging, overuse, or prior injury.  You can liken it to “massaging” a joint and the results are - reduced pain, stiffness and inflammation; decreased joint wear and tear; and improvements in disc nutrition. The bottom line is better movement and improved function!  Stiff joints are gently soothed to improve mobility.

Multi-planar Stretching

Active assisted stretching reduces stiff muscles and inflammation while re-establishing proper muscle length.  Our stretching protocol is focused on multi-planar stretches to mimic the activities of daily life or specified for your athletic pursuits.

Chiropractic Therapy

Chiropractic care is a common method to treat back pain.  Spinal adjustment is a passive manual maneuver used to manipulate, massage, mobilize, adjust, stimulate, apply traction to the spine and related tissues.  A spring-loaded tool is used to deliver precise adjustments to the joint.

Targeted Exercises

Research has shown that the best benefits of bodywork are gained when specific exercises are incorporated together into the treatment program. We teach highly specific exercises to aid in your recovery and self-care maintenance.  These include core strengthening, muscle imbalance corrections, muscle-specific stretches, and joint control techniques that stabilize the joints and greatly improve outcomes.
